About me - I am a green criminologist specialising in research on wildlife trafficking, non-human animal abuse, and the intersections to organised crime, corporate crime, and corruption.
CITES Implementation and Compliance - From May 2018 until May 2020, I researched best practice and lessons learned concerning implementation and compliance with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. This involved legislative content analysis of all national legislation to transpose CITES in the 183 member countries, a survey of experts, and identification of three case studies to provide examples of best practice and lessons learned. I have made the raw data of the legislative content analysis and survey available here. There are also summaries of the three case studies in multiple languages and an executive summary of the entire project. I have recorded video presentations of each of these as well if you would prefer to watch and listen.
Follow on Funding "New Ways to Improve the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES): exchanging knowledge to protect wildlife and public health" - From December 2021 through May 2022, I collaborated with a number of partners around the world to share the findings of my fellowship and build on that knowledge. There were four workshops that focused on different emerging themes from the fellowship. The summaries of these workshops are linked below and there is a link to the YouTube Channel with several recordings from the events.
